10.26.2016

I've been seeing many bloggers style capes & ponchos this fall, and after seeing this beauty at dressbarn I thought it was time that I jump on board with the trend!
This beauty is $35, and comes in black as well too! Because of the neutral tones in the cape, I decided to continue the neutrals throughout the rest of my look (Although it would look great with a pop of color too!).

How cute are these booties (and how pretty is this side walk)? Guess where they are from....WAL-MART! They are currently on sale online for about $17. I did what any savvy shopper would do and ordered them online and picked them up in store (no shipping cost). In store they are about $24 (still a great price).
Another great WAL-MART find includes these beautiful front to back earrings (only $3)!
This belt matches perfectly with my booties & works to give the cape a different look!

I hope you had a great Monday!

Blushing

So often we think, "fall is here, it's time to break out the dark colors." Although deep hues of oxblood & rust are often fall go-to colors, why not remember pastels provide a beautiful pallet for anytime of year?
Friday's look centered around a faux leather blush jacket from dressbarn that I purchased recently & have come to love.
I love that the jacket will be perfect moving into the spring season as well! Technically this jacket has a drape front, but I folded it under to give the look of a straight lapel. Some drape fronts or wide lapels can make the top half appear larger, myself included. By folding it under I felt a bit more "balanced."
Underneath I chose my silver double fringe necklace along with an embellished neckline lounge sweater with flecks of gold both from dressbarn as well.
I think everyone needs a pair of cream skinny jeans or cords in their closet! I scored this pair on clearance at last winter's end from Old Navy. I love that they stick to the pastel theme, and also add another texture to the look.
How will you do pastel this season?

#FALLingforOlive & Suede

This week I've teamed up with six bloggers to show you how we style olive & suede.
Some days all you need is a t & jeans and you're good to go. This look, although effortless, is still chic and put together!
Rather than wearing a jean jean, why not try a colored pair like these? I love that olive is a color that you can wear anytime of year because it plays well with neutrals, corals, oxblood, and many prints!
And for fall, what works better with these skinny jeans than a pair of suede booties?
Since it has been a bit cooler (a t was not quite warm enough), a faux leather jacket does just the trick when out and about.
How amazing is this pendant necklace?! I had seen it when in NJ at TJ Maxx, and passed it up, but I kept thinking about it! When I was out of town recently I stopped at a TJ Maxx and was so excited to see it!
I hope you're having a great week! Be sure to check out the beautiful ladies below.

Into the Woods

Today was a perfect fall day! After church and lunch Shayne & I went with my parents to visit Parnell Tower in the Kettles. Each October we (along with hundreds of others) venture over rocky pathways and travel up hundreds of steps to the top of the tower to see the beautiful fall colors.

Usually every year  I choose to wear a comfy casual look paired with a fun scarf. This year was no different!

The fun scarf I chose for this year's trek is from Express-you can never go wrong with leopard!

This extremely comfortable cardigan is from dressbarn and is part of their db sunday line. Although this color isn't in stock any longer, there are many adorable pieces currently available in this line!

For fall a pair of dark wash jeans are always my go to with a comfy cardigan & t. This pair is only $29.50 from dressbarn!

As with many fall looks this year, I chose my neutral almond-toe booties by Vince Camuto to complete my look.
Adios Parnell, we will see you next year!

#FALLingforfringe

Happy Wednesday! This week I've teamed up with six bloggers this week to show you how we style flares & fringe. Although I do quite love the fringe trend, flares just aren't for me at this time. I am still dedicated to my cigarette pants & skinny jeans!
I do quite love this double fringe necklace though from dressbarn, and may have gotten a wee bit too much use out of it lately :) I love that it's simple, is versatile, and works with nearly any look.

So it's not exactly fringe.... but these tights sort of play on the theme, and they are simply amazing. Both the tights and skirt are from J. Crew, and I mean how can you go wrong?!
Instead of the fall trend of fringe on booties or bags that have been so popular this season, I chose more subtle options that could work with nearly any outfit.
And lastly, happy 29th Birthday to this handsome guy who always puts up with my photo demands & is the most amazing hubby I could ask for!

Be sure to check out the amazing ladies below to see how they styled these trends.

#FALLingforplaid & hats

Happy #wadw (Wear a Dress Wednesday)! This week I've teamed up again with five amazing bloggers to show you how we style plaid & hats for the fall season, two more must have trends.

Hats have been seen everywhere lately, from high end designers to slightly more attainable price points at target. At first I wasn't too sure about this trend, but they have definitely grown on me! The fedora style I chose for this look (I also own in black) is from dressbarn. At under $30 this piece is a great option if you are looking to "try" out the trend!
What doesn't say fall more than a plaid blanket scarf? The blanket scarf has been around now for several years, and continues to be a huge hit! People went crazy over the original style from Zara (think of the beanie baby craze many years ago), and resold the style at exorbitant amounts of $$$. Since then many boutiques and online retailers have come up with dupes at a fraction of the price. I love how comfy it is & that I can throw it on with any t, sweater, or dress and have a completed look. If you are not sure how to style it check out the countless videos on YouTube showing how to cut the scarf or the endless ways to wear it!

To finish off this look I chose simple gold bangles & a Merlot bow belt to tie the colors together!

Be sure to check out the ladies below!
